He isn’t a Fossilist nor Archaeologist,
He don’t care for pharaohs, their laws nor their politics,
Couldn’t be bothered with all of the obelisks
Put up to honor the gods and the goddesses,
Cleopatra don’t matter, King Tut might just matter less,
Pyramids, shmyramids, forget a sarcophagus.
Survey the populace: most if not of all of us
Say interest in Egypt is one of the commonest.
But he’s interested only in studying studies of
People who research Egyptians and Egypt stuff.
A genius, it’s obvious, his brilliance is bottomless,
He is beloved and trusted and marvelous
For none else can say without pause that their calling is
An Egyptologist-ology-ologist.
